Shannon Fernandez joined Island Health’s senior leadership team as Chief Financial Officer in April 2025. As a seasoned financial executive with over 20 years of healthcare operations, Fernandez brings experience in financial analytics, managed care, reporting, supply chain, revenue cycle and value-based care. She holds a Master of Healthcare Administration from University of Providence in Great Falls, Montana, and earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, Accounting from California State University, Bakersfield.

In her previous role, Fernandez served as Chief Strategy Officer for the Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic, where she directed and managed corporate billing and accounts receivable processing. She also developed the clinic’s first strategic plan and increased outreach by 300%.

Prior to this, Fernandez was Director of Finance Operations and Revenue Cycle at Fred Hutch Cancer Care in Seattle, where she oversaw all aspects of financial reporting and accounting.
