With hundreds of available Medicare insurance plans that may change benefits or premiums each year, it is more complicated than ever to find Medicare insurance that matches your personal needs, preferences, and budget. This challenge is compounded by the fact that most healthcare providers do not accept all Medicare plans, and provider participation may change.

hospital. - Medicare Education. Conduct online research using the Medicare Education Center.

If you are 65 or older, or on Medicare disability, the Statewide Health Insurance Benefits Advisors (SHIBA) can provide insight and education on Medicare, supplemental health insurance, Medicare Extra Help programs, COBRA and more!

AFFORDABLE CARE ACT
Island Health’s Plan Assisters help patients navigate the health-insurance exchange and can assist you with finding plans that fit your needs and budget. The Affordable Care Act (ACA) requires that all people 18 and older (who pay taxes) have insurance. You can sign up for coverage annually, starting November 1. If you qualify for Apple Health (Medicaid) coverage you can sign up at any time.
