Working Toward Collective Goals
Dr. Ali Salari has been a physician for decades and will be the first to admit that change is difficult. He feels his role as a family medicine provider is to allow his patients to be heard, provide accurate information and give appropriate treatment options. He enjoys encouraging his patients to work toward collective goals on their health journey.
In an interview, Dr. Salari shares a bit about himself, including his clinical interests and what he enjoys most about his job.
Q: What do you enjoy most about your job?
A: I am enthusiastic about helping our community stay healthy. My top priority is working together with my patients toward collective health goals.
Q: What are some of your clinical interests?
A: I have a special interest in diabetes, as it can be such a devastating disease for an individual and their families. If we can control a person’s diabetes and avoid the associated complications, it will make a dramatic impact for everyone involved.
Q: What are some of your hobbies?
A: I enjoy being outdoors and exploring by hiking and trekking, especially the many trails of Mt. Erie. You can’t beat the views there on a clear day. I also enjoy playing tennis and racquetball.
Q: Why did you choose Island Health?
A: After living many years in Utah, I wanted to experience the outdoors in a different setting. I’m excited to try all the water activities Anacortes has to offer, especially kayaking.
