Island Hospital continues to receive honor for high-quality patient care as noted by the recent four-star rating by Medicare based on patients’ survey responses. The overall hospital rating includes a variety of the more than 100 measures reported on Hospital Compare, divided into 7 measure groups or categories: mortality, safety of care, readmission, patient experience, effectiveness of care, timeliness of care, and efficient use of medical imaging. Fewer than one-third of hospitals across the U.S. are rated as high as four stars by CMS.
