Island Psychiatry & Behavioral Health Clinic Welcomes Dr. DiPesa
Island Health welcomes osteopathic physician Christopher DiPesa, DO, to Island Psychiatry & Behavioral Health clinic this month. DiPesa said his practice combines treating the body, mind and spirit, along with the biopsychosocial approach.
“My practice entails a holistic approach to psychiatry with a firm foundation in evidence-based medicine,” he said.
Originally from Oklahoma, DiPesa was a board certified optician in Tulsa before earning his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Oklahoma State University. He also completed his general psychiatry residency at Oklahoma State University Medical Center.
DiPesa’s clinical interests include but are not limited to a wide range of psychiatric disorders including depressive disorders, bipolar spectrum disorders, anxiety disorders, substance use disorders and trauma-related disorders.
“I chose to specialize in psychiatric medicine because the human mind is infinitely fascinating and complex, and each patient has a unique story to tell,” DiPesa said.
“We’re excited to benefit from Dr. DiPesa’s knowledge and passion and are so glad to have him join us,” Hogge said.
As a newcomer to the Pacific Northwest, DiPesa looks forward to exploring the numerous mountains, forests and beaches in our area along with his wife, a PNW native, who is excited to get back to the outdoors of her childhood.
