The Island Hospital Employee of the Month for June is Respiratory Therapist Jeff Freeland.

As a respiratory therapist, Jeff cares for patients who have trouble breathing. He is a valuable, well-respected member of the Island Hospital Respiratory team and his co-workers praise his organization skills, knowledge base and willingness to help. Whether it is a stressful situation in the Emergency Department or a premature newborn in the Birth Center, Jeff remains calm and professional. He has great interpersonal skills and is always reassuring to patients and family providing them with education on cardiopulmonary health. In addition, Jeff is very attentive to a patient’s needs and has been known to give patients blankets when he sees the nursing staff is busy.

Since his arrival in 2015, Jeff has characterized Island Hospital’s Promise to consistently provide the best customer service to our patients, families, guests and colleagues. Congratulations and thanks for being an inspiration, Jeff!
