The Island Hospital Employee of the Month for July is Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and Patient Safety Companion Jeremy Broyles, CNA in the Emergency Department.

Patients are often scared and anxious when they arrive in the ED and Jeremy has an amazing talent of being able to calm and reassure them. As part of his job, Jeremy helps patients feel comfortable during their visit; he will get them a blanket if they are cold or a drink of water if they are thirsty. In addition, Jeremy transports patients for testing, takes their vital signs and assists clinical staff as needed. His co-workers appreciate his flexibility and hard work saying, “Jeremy is constantly able to assess the situation and offer an extra hand where needed, even before being asked.”

Since his arrival in 2020, Jeremy has characterized Island Hospital’s Promise to consistently provide the best customer service to our patients, families, guests and colleagues. Congratulations and thanks for being an inspiration, Jeremy!
