Jennifer Simpson-Manske, MD, joins the Island Primary Care – Orcas Clinic as a full-time family medicine provider for island patients. She comes most recently from New Mexico, and she has been a practicing family physician for 24 years. Simpson-Manske earned a Doctor of Medicine degree from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee and completed her residency in family medicine at the University of Rochester, in New York.

In addition to her work in family practice, Simpson-Manske has served as Medical Director and physician at Healthcare for the Homeless (Dayton, Ohio), and has worked in healthcare for the Indian Health Services and in communities serving immigrants.

Island Health Chief Medical Officer Jason Hogge, MD, says Simpson-Manske offers something for everyone.

“She brings a wealth of experience in everything from women’s health to geriatrics, specializing in taking care of whole families. We’re grateful to have her on board,” Hogge said.

Her clinical interests include diabetes prevention, preventative healthcare, nutrition and family planning.

“I enjoy meeting people where they currently are in their health journey and helping them move in the direction of greater health and wellness,” Simpson-Manske said.

Simpson-Manske has raised three children. She’s excited to move from the southwest to the Pacific Northwest as it will allow her to explore her passions of mountain biking, snowboarding and exploring trails with her two Bernese mountain dogs.
