New Mammography Screening Recommendations
Effective 4/30/2024: The U.S. Preventive Task Force recommends that all women get screened for breast cancer every other year, starting at age 40 and continuing through age 74.

What do you enjoy most about being a mammography technologist?
I love taking care of women and building that relationship with my patients. As women, we are often putting other’s needs first. This is a chance to take care of ourselves and I’m happy to be a part of that.
What’s the most rewarding part of your job?
My patients!
Why did you become a mammography technologist?
I was actually approached by another mammography technologist a few years out of X-ray school to become a mammography technician. She thought I would be good at mammography and wanted to teach me, and I was willing to learn.

What do you want women to know about mammograms?
A few minutes of discomfort is worth it. Statistics show that 75% of women who get diagnosed have NO family history of breast cancer.
