In 2004, the Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA) made September Disaster Preparedness Month. As part of Disaster Preparedness, Bloodworks Northwest is on rotation for the Blood Emergency Readiness Corps from September 2 – 8 and September 23 – 29, 2024 to rush a shipment of Type O blood anywhere in the USA if the need suddenly arises. Please consider scheduling an appointment to donate blood at the following blood drive at Island Health on September 12 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
