New Pediatrician Amy Montoya, MD

 

Dr. Amy Montoya joins the team at Island Primary Care – M Avenue providing pediatric care. She is American Board of Pediatrics certified and is an American Academy of Pediatrics Fellow. In a recent interview, Dr. Montoya shares more about her clinical interests and why she chose Island Health.

 

Q: What do you enjoy most about being a pediatrician?
A: I love caring for children, watching them grow and helping them reach their full healthy potential. I work to cultivate a calm, friendly environment for my patients where they can share what they need to in order for me to provide them with the best care.

Q: What are some of your clinical interests?
A: I have a special interest in breastfeeding, newborn care, asthma, allergies and nutrition.

Q: How do you like to spend your time when not seeing patients?
A: I enjoy movies, live music, reading and playing the cello. My family and I love the outdoors, and enjoy camping and hiking.

Q: Why did you choose Island Health?
A: I was born and raised in Texas but fell in love with the Pacific Northwest after visiting with my husband, a native Washingtonian.
