Island Primary Care – 24th Street is excited to welcome Dr. Jimmy Thomas to the team. Thomas specializes in nephrology, or kidney care, and has been a general nephrologist for the past decade. He is currently the Chief Medical Officer at Renasolve, Inc, an organization that offers inpatient nephrology coverage in rural communities.

Thomas earned a Master of Public Health from University of Texas and completed his internship and residency at the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He then completed a fellowship in nephrology at University of Washington School of Medicine. He is a member of the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM), certified in Internal Medicine and Nephrology.

When it comes to his patients, Thomas loves creating long-term relationships.

“I want my patients to clearly understand their medical condition so they can make more informed decisions about their health and lifestyle,” he said.

Chief Executive Officer Elise Cutter knows Thomas’s philosophy of care will be a meaningful addition to Island Primary Care – 24th.

“We are thrilled to offer nephrology services in Anacortes with Dr. Thomas, who is extremely passionate about helping patients in rural communities with kidney care,” Cutter said.

Thomas urges his patients to avoid making assumptions and to ask questions about health and wellness when working with providers. A health nut himself, Thomas has completed six half Ironman competitions and spends much of his time outdoors, hiking and biking. He can also be found reading and enjoying time with his wife and two young daughters.
