New urologist Brock Boehm, DO

Island Health welcomed Dr. Brock Boehm to its Island Urology clinic in July. Dr. Boehm comes most recently from Darnall Army Medical Center in Fort Cavazos, Texas, where he was Staff Urologist. Boehm completed both his internship and residency at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland and earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Des Moines, Iowa.

In a recent interview, Dr. Boehm shares what he loves about his job and why he chose Island Health.

Q: What do you enjoy most about your job?

A: Guiding patients through urologic challenges and arriving at successful outcomes is what drives my passion for Urology. I enjoy the privilege of taking care of individuals who have very sensitive medical and surgical issues.

Q: What are some of your clinical interests?

A: I have a particular interest in urologic oncology, benign enlargement of the prostate and kidney stones. For those patients that do require surgery, I have expertise in minimally invasive techniques including robotic surgery and advanced technology for benign prostate surgery and kidney stones.

Q: How do you like to spend your time when not seeing patients?

A: My wife, four kids and I enjoy spending time outdoors and getting into nature. I am very excited to have the opportunity to watch my children learn how to ski/snowboard now that we are living in the Pacific Northwest!

Q: Why did you choose Island Health?

A: My family and I were excited about the opportunity of moving closer to our extended families and to explore all the outdoor activities that Anacortes has to offer.
