Chief Information Officer Galina Gandy joined Island Health in 2024. For two decades, she has led and managed healthcare projects and programs around the country. Gandy’s expertise ranges from strategic planning and operations leadership to budgeting and technology implementation. She is an accomplished executive with a history of leading health system initiatives and driving positive change.

Before joining Island Health, Gandy served as Vice President of Information Technology for Doyon Limited in Anchorage, Alaska, where she was Chair of the Cybersecurity Consortium, developing a robust healthcare compliance program and leading a renewable energy project. Gandy’s experience in health systems includes serving as a Hospital Administrator, optimizing IT departments, leading coding compliance projects, and implementing telemedicine programs.

At ease with people and technology, Gandy brings a wealth of experience in staff leadership and development, managing multi-million dollar budgets, and collaborating with executives and board members. She has served as Chief Information Officer for Regional West Health System (Scottsbluff, Nebraska) and Columbia Memorial Hospital (Astoria, Oregon) and began her IT career at Providence (Renton, Washington).

Gandy earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and an MBA from Western Governors University.
