Julie Norton Stewart joined Island Hospital’s leadership team as the Chief Financial Officer in January 2021. Stewart brings a depth of experience to the role with over 20 years of expertise in leading financial operations including developing financial models, assessing financial risk, evaluating cost structures and revenue streams, and maintaining annual operating budgets.
Stewart earned her Bachelor of Science in Finance and Master of Business Administration from Clemson University in South Carolina. Originally from a town in the outskirts of Cape Cod, Massachusetts, Stewart relocated to Portland, Oregon where she created a home for herself and her family, eventually becoming the Owner and Chief Operating Officer of the Academy Theatre.
Prior to joining Island Hospital, Stewart led a successful career in finance, holding prominent roles such as Financial Consultant, Senior Financial Analyst and Director of Finance. As the Chief Financial Officer at Island Hospital, Stewart provides oversight of Finance, Patient Accounts, Revenue Cycle (Patient Access, Medical Records and Coding), Information Systems and Materials Management.
After relocating to Anacortes, Stewart noted how it feels reminiscent of the coastal area where she grew up in Massachusetts. Stewart and her family are happy to be a part of Anacortes’ vibrant community and explore all that Fidalgo Island has to offer.
