Chief Financial Officer Paul Vachek, MBA, joined Island Health in 2026. Vachek brings 25 years of experience in healthcare leadership, finance and operations to his role.

Throughout his distinguished career, Vachek has served as CFO and vice president of finance and operations for both independent and large health systems, in both metro and rural areas, including Banner Health, Catholic Health Initiatives and Trinity Health.

Vachek earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from Boise State University and a Master of Business Administration from Northwest Nazarene University. He is a proud fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and has served as a board member of the Arizona Healthcare Financial Management Association.

Born and raised in the Czech Republic, Vachek brings a rich global perspective to his leadership. Away from work, he enjoys spending quality time with family and friends, walking his beloved Yorkie, Molly, traveling, and staying active through a variety of sports and outdoor activities.
