It is time for our announcement of the 2019 Employee of the Year. During the past year, we have had an opportunity to recognize each month a special employee, someone who stood out among our staff as an individual who lived the Promise in their service to our patients, visitors and colleagues.

Our 2019 Employee of the Year is Brent Adkison in Engineering.

Brent has been at Island Hospital, with the Engineering Department, for five years. As a maintenance engineer, Brent has the knowledge and skills necessary to perform installations, repairs and preventive maintenance in all general areas of maintenance for the hospital. He cheerfully steps up to complete tasks and often takes the initiative to correct a deficiency that he’s identified on his own. Brent is an experienced electrician and is knowledgeable with all mechanical tasks. His supervisor notes that, “Brent is a real asset, not just to the engineering team, but to the hospital at large.”
