Two new physicians, Dr. Ryan Wisler and Dr. Sheena Wisler, will start at Island Primary Care – 24th Street and Island OB/GYN – 24^th Street over the next few weeks, respectively. Both earned their medical degrees from Louisiana State University School of Medicine (LSUHSC) in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Dr. Sheena Wisler completed her residency and was Chief Resident at LSUHSC OB/GYN while Dr. Ryan Wisler completed his residency also at LSUHSC in an Internal Medicine residency program.

Drs. Wisler have spent the last six years in Montrose, Colorado where Sheena Wisler served as the Medical Director at Alpine Women’s Centre and Ryan Wisler was a primary care provider at Cedar Point Health. Their time in the beauty of Colorado influenced their move to the Pacific Northwest where mountains and water are at arms’ length. They also look forward to the excellent coffee and seafood of our area.

Ryan says being trusted with someone’s health is one of the greatest privileges in medicine, and he enjoys helping individuals navigate what can often feel like an increasingly difficult healthcare system.

“I focus on helping patients build sustainable habits around exercise, nutrition and sleep, all foundational to long-term health,” said Ryan Wisler.

Sheena Wisler also enjoys the unique opportunity to connect with patients during their most vulnerable or memorable moments.

“It’s important to me to provide the same compassionate care that I would want a family member to receive,” said Sheena Wisler. “It’s clear that Island Health keeps the community it serves at the center of all decisions, and I’m excited to be a part of that team that provides excellent, evidence-based care while remaining both passionate and compassionate.”

The arrival of the Wislers is a double win for Island Health, says Chief Medical Officer Jason Hogge, MD.

“We are excited and grateful to welcome two extremely talented providers, and more importantly, our patients will be lucky to receive their care,” Hogge said.

When the Wislers aren’t at work, they love to trail run, ski, travel and play in the mountains with their border collie, Yuca.
