Island Health is thrilled to welcome Angela DeSantis, DO, to Island Obstetrics & Gynecology – 24^th Street. DeSantis started last week and brings a passion for women’s health that will further enhance the exceptional care our OB/GYN team provides to women of all ages. For the past decade, DeSantis practiced in Austin, Texas, at Austin OB/GYN, and more recently at People’s Community Clinic in Austin.

She earned a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from University of North Texas in Fort Worth, and completed her OB/GYN residency at Mercy Hospital and Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois, where she was Chief Resident of Didactics in her final year. DeSantis is board certified with the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a Fellow with the American Congress of Obstetrics and Gynecology (since 2009).

Island Health Chief Executive Officer Elise Cutter said DeSantis is a great fit for our team and the community.

DeSantis is particularly interested in preventive medicine and is passionate about helping patients choose the best options for their specific needs.

“My first step is always to ensure that I’m on the same page as the patient regarding understanding basic knowledge of the health concern,” she said. “From there, we can discuss management and treatment options.”

Having recently relocated from Texas to Anacortes with her husband, twin daughters and their dog, DeSantis is eager to discover all that the Pacific Northwest has to offer. So far, the family’s favorite activities include swimming and exploring the region’s scenic beaches.”
