Island Health is pleased to welcome Kristen Roberts, PA-C, to Island Orthopedics. A Washington native, Roberts brings more than eight years of specialty orthopedic experience to the role, including two years practicing locally in Mount Vernon and Anacortes, with a focus spanning spine, adult reconstruction, upper extremity, and foot and ankle care.

Roberts earned a Bachelor of Science in Health Science from the University of Central Florida and a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Thomas Jefferson University. She most recently practiced at MultiCare Orthopedics & Sports Medicine in Auburn and Covington, Washington, where she partnered directly with board-certified adult reconstruction surgeons.

Island Health Chief Executive Officer Elise Cutter said Roberts’ blend of surgical experience and patient-first approach makes her a strong addition to the orthopedics team.

“Kristen brings exactly the kind of hands-on expertise and genuine care our patients deserve, and we’re thrilled to welcome her back to our community,” said CEO Elise Cutter.

For Roberts, providing excellent care starts with listening.

“Too many people come to appointments already frustrated having not been heard elsewhere,” Roberts said. “I try to fix that first. Then there’s the other kind of fixing—orthopedics is carpentry for people. There’s nothing more satisfying than hearing someone is out of pain, back to playing with their grandkids, or able to compete again because I was part of helping them get there.”

Roberts holds a particular interest in advanced closure and surgical techniques within orthopedics.

Roberts enjoys reading, spending time outdoors and playing musical instruments in her free time.
