Island Sports & Spine Clinic Increases Access to Care with New Provider
Jeffrey Krause, MD joined Island Sports & Spine Clinic this week, increasing access to care for patients looking for non-surgical, minimally-invasive, chronic pain options. Krause comes most recently from Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, Vermont where he worked in interventional pain management. He brings an extensive anesthesiology background, having served as anesthesiologist at Naval Hospital in Bremerton, Washington; Rocky Mountain State Anesthesia Providers in Fort Collins, Colorado; and Wentworth-Douglas Hospital in Dover, New Hampshire.
Krause graduated from University of Colorado School of Medicine. He completed his internship in anesthesiology at Integris Baptist Medical Center and his residency in anesthesiology at University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, both in Oklahoma City.
Born and raised in Colorado, Krause fell in love with the Pacific Northwest when he and his family were stationed in Bremerton. “We are so excited to be returning,” he said.
Krause’s interest in interventional pain management includes minimally invasive procedures to address chronic pain in the neck, back, arms, shoulders, legs and hips.
“My goal is to implement the latest non-surgical, minimally invasive techniques to provide whole health, medical management and interventions that will give my patients lasting pain relief. My favorite part of the job is fostering long-term relationships while serving as a guide in my patients’ pain management recovery,” he said.
Krause joins current provider, Dr. Robert Billow, at the clinic. Island Health Chief Medical Officer Jason Hogge, MD is excited to welcome a new specialist.
“Adding Dr. Krause to our team will increase access to care in this clinic, and we couldn’t be happier. His experience and philosophy align perfectly with Island Health’s courageous care model,” said Hogge.
