The Island Hospital Employee of the Month for November is Informatics Specialist Eva Hardesty, MSN, RN, BC.

As an informatics specialist, Eva plays a key role in developing the information systems that our clinical departments use; linking information, technology and computer science to healthcare. Eva’s work helps find effective ways to collect, share, standardize and integrate health data with the ultimate goal of improving patient care. Eva continues to shine in supporting Island Hospital’s providers, customers and patients with her professionalism, vast knowledge and dedication. She has gained the respect of everyone she supports and all of her coworkers agree that, “Eva is a pleasure to work with.” Earlier this year, Eva was instrumental in standing up our COVID-19 vaccine clinic. She managed the day-to-day flow of the clinic, ensured volunteers were properly trained and monitored the vaccine usage. Her work has truly made an impact on our community and staff.

Since her arrival in 2015, Eva has characterized Island Hospital’s Promise to consistently provide the best customer service to our patients, families, guests and colleagues. Congratulations and thanks for being an inspiration, Eva!
