Meet the Provider

Hello, I’m Dr. VanGaasbeek

I am excited to be a part of Island Health, where I have the opportunity to serve a vibrant, tight knit community and the ability to work with a wonderful group of doctors. What I love most about my job is caring for the entire family and being immersed within my community. It is the connections I make with my patients that truly drives me. Being a family medicine doctor with obstetrics allows me to walk through the joys and sorrows of life alongside my patients. I have a special clinical interest in obesity medicine because it is a disease that affects so much of our population and effective treatment can be life changing. Being on the forefront of many new management and medication options is exciting to me. In my free time, I love to watch and support my favorite sports teams with my husband, daughter, and our Great Pyrenees/Anatolian Shepard mix. We enjoy being outdoors, either on the water or riding bikes.
