Food of the Month – Grapes

Grapes have been a part of people’s diets since ancient times, whether enjoying them as a crisp cold snack, a sweet and crunchy pairing to a salad or fermented to make wine. There are around 8,000 varieties, and 80 varieties being grown here in Washington. Grapes are rich in antioxidants (the dark red grape varieties being higher levels), which improve skin and heart health. They contain insoluble fiber which regulate digestion, improve cognitive function and help with recovery.
